Frequently Asked Questions

Who created PSYCH-K®?

Robert M. Williams is the originator of PSYCH-K®. As a psychotherapist, Robert became increasingly frustrated that even with all the knowledge he had acquired through intense study, attending numerous workshops on a myriad of modalities, he felt frustrated that he was still not able to help his clients attain their goals in the way he wanted to see. Then on an early December day in 1988, out of sheer anger and frustration over the project he was working on, he walked out to his backyard and asked, "Okay God, if you don't want me to do what I'm doing, what do you want me to do?" Within minutes, he miraculously received a download with the details of a pattern for changing limiting subconscious beliefs to self-empowering ones. His story can be found in his book, The Missing Piece(Peace) in your Life.

Why do I need PSYCH-K®?

PSYCH-K® is an excellent complement to conventional medical treatments for achieving holistic healing of mind, body and spirit. Most dis-ease and illness have a direct correlation to negative beliefs embedded in the subconscious mind. In the field of psycho-neuroimmunology, PSYCH-K® is used to alter and/or change the beliefs that may be the underlying cause of our condition thus addressing the psychological connection to our state of wellbeing.

Can I use PSYCH-K® for my children and/or pet?

Yes! PSYCH-K® balances can be used with any person regardless of age and/or pet. We have a process called Surrogation in which we can surrogate your pet, for example, to carry out the balances.

What is a PSYCH-K® balance?

A PSYCH-K® balance is a simple process of asking for permission which is then followed by attaining coherence between the left and right hemispheres of the brain in order to facilitate the installation of a new desired goal statement/program into the subconscious mind.

How long does it take to do a PSYCH-K® balance?

A PSYCH-K® balance generally takes about 15-20 mins, depending on the individual. It is by far one the fastest way to effect change in the subconscious mind.

How do I know if the change I am wanting is right for me?

In PSYCH-K®, we honor each person as a spiritual (not religious) being having a human experience. As such, we always ask permission from your Higher self/ a higher aspect of yourself, if the change in the form of a new goal statement/program is 'safe and appropriate' to implant into your subconscious mind. The technique we use to obtain that information is through our unique way of muscle testing. Muscle testing is usually done with help from your Facilitator for in-person sessions. For virtual sessions, your Facilitator does the muscle testing on your behalf while in Surrogation.

How long is a PSYCH-K® session?

First sessions are typically 1.5 hours. All sessions thereafter are 1 hour.

I have worked with a Facilitator before. Can I do the balances myself? or Can you teach me?

I am glad that you have found out for yourself how life-changing PSYCH-K® can be. While it appears simple and easy to do, it is important to fully appreciate the depth, understanding, attention to detail and, not to mention the fun that attending a Basic workshop can offer. All PSYCH-K® Facilitators are not allowed to teach PSYCH-K® (including me) except for designated Certified Instructors via workshops. You should try it! They are amazing! Please visit for workshop schedules in the US and around the world.

Can PSYCH-K® sessions be done online? or in person?

PSYCH-K® sessions can be done both online and in person. It's efficacy is the same either way. However, in view of COVID, many people feel more comfortable with online sessions.

What kind of results can I expect to see?

While we advise expecting changes is encouraged, being attached to a specific outcome is NOT. Changes can be so very subtle that they can often go unnoticed by the person who did the balances as it has become 'natural' to behave a certain way for example. But those changes can be dramatically noticeable by observers around them instead. Of course, some changes can be quite dramatic and significant. So it really depends on the nature of the goal statements created.
